Applesauce Crockpot Style

Updated: Jul 29, 2023

For my recipe, Applesauce Crockpot Style, I like to use honey crisp or fuji apples, but any kind will work.

  • 3 lb apples (about 12) peeled, cored, and cut into thick slices

  • 1/3 Cup lightly packed brown sugar (See note below)

  • 1 1/4 -2 teaspoon Sweet Dandelion Colonial Fall Blend (See note below)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in your crockpot and cook on high for 5 hours.

  2. For a slightly chunky applesauce, simply stir and mash the apples with a large spoon.

  3. For a smooth applesauce, transfer the cooled applesauce to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.

  4. Store applesauce in an airtight container within the refrigerator or freeze for up to 6 months

Note: The amount of sugar used will depend on the type of apples used. Taste the applesauce about an hour before it's done and adjust spices and sugar to meet your own taste.
